KIRBY, B.J. Carl – of Davison, age 90, died Monday, April 18, 2022 at his residence. Honoring B.J.’s wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 7, 2022 at St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, May 7, 2022 from 12:00 PM until the time of service at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Dunstan’s Episcopal Church or Shriners Hospitals for Children.
B.J. was born February 21, 1932 in Chapin Township, Michigan to the late Bernie and Isabelle (Baum) Kirby. He grew up in Ovid-Elsie and Flint, Michigan and graduated from Northern High School with the class of 1950. B.J. then attended Baker Business College. He served his country in the US Air Force in Korea. On August 3, 1953 he married Caroline Convis and they were married 65 years before she preceded him in death in 2018. Prior to his retirement, B.J. worked for Bisbee Car Company as a car transporter. He was a member of the St. Dunstan Episcopal Church, Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge # 458, and the Elf Khurafeh Shrine for 50 years. B.J. was also a member of the Flint Shrine Oriental band for 46 years. He enjoyed sports, playing cards and deer hunting.
Surviving are: Children, Sally Simmons, Carla (Cecil) Ward, Berneice (Greg) Camp, Lee (LaRae) Kirby; Grandchildren, Jennifer (Mike) Marcin, Carrie Simmons and partner Ryan Cleveland, Kyle (Jessica) Simmons, Jonathan Camp, Leslie Camp, Eli Kirby; Great Grandchildren, Brenna Christian, Lily Simmons, Nolan Marcin, Spencer Marcin, Novo Cleveland. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Wife, Caroline Kirby; Grandson, Kevin Stanbaugh; Son in law, Norris Simmons; and 3 sisters.
