GONYEA, Joseph E. – of Evart, MI age 85, passed away on Saturday, September 17, 2022. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, September 23, 2022, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor James Gonyea officiating. Interment, with Military Honors, will take place following the service at Meadowview Memorial Gardens. The family will receive visitors 11 AM – 2 PM and 4-8 PM Thursday at Allen Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday.
Joseph was born in Flint, MI on June 10, 1937, son of the late Edmund R. Gonyea and Edith (Perkins) Gonyea. He married Gail Pauline Kittle on November 26, 1969. She preceded him in death on November 8, 2006. Joseph worked at Brown & Sons for 30 years as an auto parts salesman. He enjoyed working on cars and camping. Most of all, he loved spending time with family and friends.
Joseph is survived by; partner-in-crime, Dorothy Carter; children, Lori (Richard) Worth, Kimberly (Jamie) Barrett, Theresa Brinkman, Patrick (Jeanie) Uhrig, Christopher (Kris) Uhrig and Joelle Uhrig; step-daughter, Christina (John Francilo); 17 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Pauline; infant son, Baby Joseph; son, Joseph Edmund Gonyea, Jr.
