In the comfort of her home and surrounded by her family, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and matriarch went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, September 21, 2023 at the age of 81. The daughter of the late Thomas and Kathern (Ayers) Hatfield, Ruth was born on December 6, 1941. She married Ronald A. Morris on July 26, 1975. He survives her. In her younger years, she enjoyed bowling and cooking. Ruth was a former Avon consultant. Ruth’s life was deeply centered around her family and loved holidays and gatherings.
Surviving besides her husband Ronald are two daughters, Darla Yancer, Prudenville; Christina (Mark) Campbell, Houghton Lake; four grandchildren, Rachel Yancer, Steve (Heather) Yancer, Andrew (Adrienne) Campbell and Matthew (Mackenzie) Campbell; seven great-grandchildren, Paige, Hunter, Jayden, Olivia, Jenna, Cameron and Cole; her brother, Virgle (Doris) Hatfield; her sisters-in-law, Cathern Lambert, Lois Hatfield and Rosie Hatfield; many nieces and nephews. Ruth was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters-in-law, Floyd Hatfield, Burton (Annie Mae) Hatfield, Lonnie (Betty) Hatfield, Shelby Hatfield, and Frank Hatfield.
Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd., (between Shattuck and McCarty). Pastor Bruce Badder will officiate with interment to follow in Richland Township Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home where the family will be present on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Covenant V.N.A. Hospice.
