CROSS, John Adams - Age 77, of Linden, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Funeral services will be held 12:30 PM Monday, February 3, 2025 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton (The service will be live streamed and can be viewed via John's obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com). Pastor Tim Forsthoff officiating. Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Sunday from 4-8 and Monday from 11:30 AM until the time of the service. John was born August 18, 1947 in Flint, the son of Robert Henrys and Ora Leona (Adams) Cross. He was a 1965 graduate of Flint Southwestern High School. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U.S. Army. He had resided in Linden since 1978 coming from Flint. John retired from GM V-8 Engine Plant after 34 years of service; he then worked for Linden Community School where he was a cross country and track official and the official score keeper for the basketball games. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local #659. He also was one of the original members of Argentine Fire Department, where he served for 47 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Surviving are: his sons, John Adams (Diana) Cross of Marlette and Jeffrey Michael (Anna) Cross of Fenton; grandchildren, Jordan, Haley, Emily, Ryker and Ora; honorary son, Tom (Amy) Cole of Linden. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Ora Cross; and brother, Thomas Cross. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
