ALMA, Gerald “Jerry” – of Clio, age 73, died Sunday, December 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Friday, January 2, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial to follow in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 1PM. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 1-8PM and on Friday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Jerry was born April 12, 1941 in West Branch to the late Rex and Emma (Carr) Alma. He grew up in Tawas and then lived in Birch Run area since. He served in the US Navy for 2 years. Jerry married Gloria Gruno on May 28, 1963. Mr. Alma worked at Fisher 1, then Buick, retiring in the mid 1990’s with 30 years seniority. He was a member of the UAW Locals #581 then #599. He enjoyed going to the Tawas Park and felt everyone was family.
Surviving are: wife, Gloria; children, Gerald Alma II (companion Catherine Lamay) of Clio, James (Heather) Alma of Bridgeport, Dawn Knox (companion Dan Trivilino) of Flint, Donald (Nancy) Alma of Birch Run, Charlie Alma (companion Karen Moore) of Birch Run; daughter-in-law, Anna Windsor Saginaw; 15 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; sister-in-law, Emma Fox of Flint; many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by: a sister, Pauline Yazelle; 3 brothers, Harold, Ronald and Lyle; 2 grandchildren, Hunter and Elizabeth.
