Louis Ray Mitchell (Pete), age 85, of Millington went to be with his Lord and Savior the morning of March 16, 2021. Louis passed away peacefully, at his home with family at his side. Louis was born December 17, 1935 in Applegate, Michigan to William and Mary Mitchell. On October 19, 1957 he married Karol Michel. Louis lived a full life which included his love of cooking, decorating for holidays/events, woodworking, gardening, working auctions, and tending to his hobby farm where he kept almost every farm animal under the sun except pigs! Louis was an active member of the Fellowship Baptist Church in Clio. Louis was also a past Boy Scout leader in Troop 121 and hiked the Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico with his three sons several times. He also hiked across the state of Michigan. Louis is survived by his wife Karol, children: Larry (Sharon) Mitchell, Charlie (Debbie) Green, Tamara (Bill) Morales, Anngie Mitchell, grandchildren: Christopher (Kaylee)Mitchell, Shaylee Mitchell, Brandon (Jayne)Mitchell, Scott (Danielle)Stiegemeier, Ashley (Bill) Bennett, Kennedy (Nathan)Rivas, Madison McGill, great grand-children: Bailey, Joseph, Jacob, Ashanta, Savannah, Raylan, Isabella, Abigail, and Baby Abe who will be here soon, his brothers Ken (Juanita), Jack, and his twin sister Lois (Lowell) Downey. Louis is preceded in death by his parents William and Mary Mitchell, brother Arden in WWII, sister-in-law June, son Ron, In-Laws: Karl & Beulah Michel. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday, March 20, 2021 at Fellowship Baptist Church, 14046 N. Saginaw Road, Clio - with a visitation starting at noon. Arrangements will be entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home - Columbiaville. Memorial contributions in memory of Louis may be made to the Mitchell family.
