MITCHELL, Famah M. - Of Grand Blanc, age 94, died Sunday, January 19, 2014 at home.
Visitation 2-6pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, where the funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, January 23, 2014,
Pastor Steve Hittle officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Heartland Hospice.
Famah was born in Stanford, Illinois on October 17, 1919, the daughter of the late William and Lena (Webb) Hendren. On August 26, 1945, she married John Mitchell and they celebrated their 68th Anniversary last August. Famah had a passion for nursing
and was a Licensed Practical Nurse at Hurley Hospital. She loved reading, traveling and various types of dancing.
Surviving are husband, John;
daughters, Lois LaBarge and Linda and husband Jimmy Canaday;
grandchildren, Angela Mangett, Timothy LaBarge, Cameron Canaday and Chole Canaday;
great-grandchildren, Matthew, Macy, Holden, Ally, Jayda, Ella Fay, Samantha, Payton, Timothy, Taylor and Hannah;
great-great-grandchild, Kaden.
