Dorothy was the daughter of the late Archie and Minnie (Arseneault) Christenson. She married Donald “Pete” Flynn on May 8, 1987. Dorothy felt that Jesus, her faith, husband and family were most important to her. She thought this a wonderous gift. Dorothy shared a beautiful and adventuresome marriage with her beloved soulmate and friend, Pete. She had been an active member of the former St. Leo Church as a choir member, Stephen minister and all around helper. Recently, she belonged to Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Dorothy’s first career was as an L.P.N. She thought it was a privilege to care for patients at the former St. Joseph Hospital and Lapeer State Hospital. She graduated Cum Laude from Eastern Michigan University with a teaching degree and a master’s degree from Central Michigan University. Dorothy was pleased to be listed in the Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.

Dorothy’s great joy was teaching at G.I.S.D. Students and parents were dear to her heart. With her husband Pete, they traveled through Europe, China, Australia, Haiti and more. They visited Hawaii several times, becoming her favorite destination because of a very special family there. In younger years, she enjoyed canoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing while at their cabin in Grayling. After retirement, Dorothy looked forward to spending winters in Florida camping and being near to her family.

Surviving to cherish her name are her husband, Pete; sons, Michael P. (Linda) Koryciak, Jefferey A. (Elizabeth) Koryciak; sister, Erma Madore; grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
