COLE, Kendall H. – Of Mt. Morris, age 79, died Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at his residence.
Memorial service will be held at 2:30pm Wednesday, September 1, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Visitation 1pm Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Burial in Flushing Cemetery with a military service at 4:00pm Wednesday, September 1, 2021.
Kendall was born in Flint, Michigan on March 3, 1942, the son of
Harvey C. and Mattie Margaret (Kime) Cole. Kendall retired from General Motors Truck and Bus and was the Office Manager for Cole's Auction Service. He spent many years ice racing motorcycles and was also a Hot Rod enthusiast. Ken was a soccer Coach for several years, won most and lost very few. For his devoted volunteerism to the Flint Olympian and CANUSA GAMES he was awarded the prestigious Alton Patterson Award in 1985. Ken Cole was not only a great soccer coach, but a mentor and an advocate for the Washington Community and School. He volunteered at Washington for numerous years as a member of the Community Advisory Council, Booster Club, Men's Club and its Blooper Ball team. Ken was a proud US Marine and served in Vietnam.
Surviving are children, Steven (Kristin) Cole and Kim Lewis;
grandchildren, Taylor and Tyler;
great-grandchildren, Olivia Lewis, Beonka Lewis and Mersaydez Lewis.
He was preceded in death by grandson, Joshua Lewis; his parents; his sisters, Leatrice Schilbe and Gayle Fenzau.
