SMITH, MARY ELLEN - Of Flint Township, age 61, died Saturday, October 23, 2021 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Monday, November 1, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to the family.
Visitation 2-6pm Sunday and 11am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Mary was born in Breathitt County, Kentucky on July 28, 1960, the daughter of the late Hargis and Mini (Strong) Raleigh. On July 20, 2002, she married Jackie Smith in Rankin, Michigan. Mary was a cashier at Walmart for 10 years and was also a nurse’s aide for several years.
Surviving are children, Rick Raleigh and Ashley Raleigh;
step-children, Timothy Smith and Jackie Smith;
and many grandchildren;
sisters, Bonnie (Don) Jurk and Arlena (James) Strait;
and brothers, Hargis Raleigh Jr. and Eugene Raleigh;
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jackie.
