HERZOG, John W. “Johnny” - Of Millington, age 75, died Friday, January 5, 2024 at his home.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, January 12, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Visitation 1-8pm Thursday and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Johnny was born in Flint, Michigan on August 8, 1948, the son of the late Roy and Norine Herzog. Johnny graduated from Northern High School and proudly served in the United States Army. He was affiliated with the Blackhawk Helicopter Squadron. Johnny enjoyed nature walks, fishing, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved old Hollywood movies, old westerns and “The Rifleman” television show. Johnny retired from the United States Postal Service in 2010.
Surviving are children, Adam Herzog of Clio, Christopher Van Fleet of Mt. Morris and April (Jerry) Jenkins of Huntersville, N.C.;
grandchildren, Eldon, Amelia, Vivienne and Eden Herzog, Elric, Garion and Sylena Van Fleet, and Gabrielle and Dalton Visser;
sister, Marianne Herzog;
and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry and Jim “Lefty”.
