CABOT, Ralph – of Grand Blanc, Mi, age 91, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2023. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 1 PM Monday, May 15, 2023 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. Entombment will take place following the Mass in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Sunday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison and one hour prior to mass at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 6:30 PM Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John Catholic Church.
Ralph was born in Manistee, MI on October 7, 1931, son of the late Roy and Esther (Bernaciak) Cabot. He married Joan Carolyn Milarch on September 4, 1954 in Manistee, MI. Ralph served in the US Army during the Korean War, Battle of Pork Chop Hill where he received his Purple Heart. In 1982, he retired from the Michigan State Police in Flint as their first polygraph examiner and a Detective/Lieutenant. Ralph then went on to Delta College where he was the Director of the Police Academy for the next 10 years, along with operating his own polygraph service. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and spending time at their cottage on Secord Lake and in Florida together.
Ralph is survived by his loving wife Joan; daughters; D’Ann (Mark) Adams, Jeanie (Larry) Kotowicz, Karen ( Pat) Lieske; brother, Leonard (Theresa) Cabot and sister, Joan (Mike) Ware; grandchildren, Craig (Traci) Kotowicz, Christopher (Savannah) Kotowicz, Kyle (Bonnie) Adams, Calli (Zac) Novack, Drew (Allie) Lieske, Cassi Kotowicz, Matteson Marshall, Mark Cabot and Gage Lieske; great grandchildren, Charlie, Collin, Casen, Teagan, Brady and one on the way; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by son, Mark Alan Cabot; brothers, Larry and Ervin Cabot. The family would like to give a special thank you to Tranquility Estates Senior Living and Amara Hospice for all their help and support.
