COLEMAN, Randall Lee – Of Flint, age 77, passed away January 2, 2025.
Randall was born to Walter and Phyllis Coleman on September 27th 1947. Randall attended Bendle High School, where he was very involved with sports with a focus on basketball and track and field, and graduated in 1965. Randall started working at Fisher Body after graduation. He then joined the Air Force, for which he played basketball in Germany. This is where he met his wife Marion and they were married in December of 69. After his tour of duty was over, he returned to Michigan. He started taking college courses, first at Mott then at MSU, in education. Upon earning his bachelor's degree, Randall took a position in the Beecher school system. Moving on later to a teaching position in Germany for the Department of Defense. He loved his students and his colleagues immensely, often taking on extra work as a coach and class sponsor. He enjoyed participating in Volksläufe on the weekends with friends in the countryside. Randall took great pride in attending his grandsons’ extracurricular activities.
Randall is survived by his mother, Phyllis Coleman;
his wife, Marion Coleman;
brother, Terry (wife Rita) Coleman;
sister, Sandra (husband Eddie) Elfine;
brother-in-law, Chuck Swegels;
sister in-law, Ilona and her husband Wolfgang;
his daughter, Manuela Rueter;
grandsons, Bailey & Griffin Rousseau;
special friends, Rose Anne Anderson & Marty and Linda Crane;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dewey and Effie Callaway; Father, Walter Jack Coleman; sister, Jacqueline Swegels; and brother in-law Hans-Herbert.
