RUTHERFORD, Clayton,Jr. “Bud” – Of Flint, age 81, passed peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Thursday ,December 2, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021 and 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
He was a good man and loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
A proud resident of Flint he owned and operated Rutherford & Sons Construction. He was heavily involved in the Flint Builders Association and was President.
He was the founder of the Flint Remolders Association and partner of Flint Real Estate for over 30 years.
Along with many more ventures throughout his life, he loved the outdoors and spending time with his 4 sons at his northern Michigan home.
Surviving are 4 sons, Steve, John (Shelly), Nick (Lori) and Gerald (Barb);
grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
sisters, Onalee and Gwen;
He was preceded in death by his father, Clayton; mother, Rhoda; sister, Norma; brothers-in-law, Dick and Joe and daughter-in-law, Laura.
