MARQUAND, James E. – of Flint, age 83, passed away May 6, 2014 at home. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Friday, May 9, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Thursday, 10-11 AM Friday.
James was born in Flint, MI on January 24, 1931, son of the late George and Mary (Crouso) Marquand. He married Barbara Robbins on June 16, 1951 at St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Flint. James was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp. James enjoyed hunting, gardening and watching the Detroit Tigers. He worked at Vernors, IMA Cup Vending and later retired from Kearsley Schools as a custodian.
James is survived by his wife, Barbara; children, Susan (Keith) Bemiss, Thomas Marquand, Judy Chizmadia; grandchildren, Jaie and Nicholas Bemiss, Kathryn (Jason) McKee and Jonathan Chizmadia. He was preceded in death by sister, Lois Uptegraff; brother, Donald Marquand.
