ERLER, Kenneth William, Sr. - Age 73, of Mundy Township, died Saturday, January 25, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial immediately following at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery, Grand Blanc. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday from 1-4 and 6-8 PM. Those desiring may make contributions to the Kenneth W. Erler, Sr. Memorial Fund.

Ken was born October 11, 1940 in Swartz Creek, the son of Floyd W. and Louise C. (Colley) Erler. He was a 1958 graduate of Mandeville High School and attended Mott Community College. He married Barbara J. Vaughn April 13, 1959 in Flint. He retired in 1995 from GM Chevrolet after 35 years of service. Ken was a member of South Mundy United Methodist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, "he could fix anything".

Surviving are: his wife of 54 years, Barbara; 8 children, Kenneth W. Erler, Jr. and wife Glinda of Keithville, LA, Catherine L. Vail and husband Max of Keithville, LA, James D. Erler and wife Laura of Swartz Creek, Debra J. Ford and husband Steve of Flint, Donald J. Erler and fiancee Courtney Farrington of Flint, Thomas D. Erler of Flint, Savannah Erler of Swartz Creek, and Sierra Erler of Swartz Creek; 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; sisters, Doris E. Pearson and husband Roland of Theodore, AL and Stella L. Dewar of Clio; Several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
