Rosemary Ann Vernon, age 78, of Swartz Creek, MI passed away December 10, 2023 with family by her side at Ascension Genesys Hospital, Grand Blanc. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 AM Saturday, December 16, 2023, at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 2415 Bagley St. Flint, MI. Fr. Tom Firestone officiating. Private burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the church Saturday from 9:30 AM until time of service. Rosemary was born in Flint, MI the daughter of Catherine (Pat) Coggins (Metzger) and Erwin Vernon. Rosemary took pride and retired from a wonderful 30-year career as a LPN (nurse) at Hurley Medical Center. Her Catholic faith meant a lot to her, as she was a practicing Catholic and a long-time parishioner at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. Rosemary was a beloved sister, aunt and cousin. Although Rosemary loved all her nieces and nephews like they were her own, she had a close and special bond with her niece Maggie Mae Edwards. Maggie, along with her two boys (Braeden and Logan Starnes) took her in and loved and cared for her when she was no longer able to be on her own. Rosemary leaves behind a brother Gerald (Judy) Vernon, sister Marsha (Rex) Baker, sister Patricia Shaver, brother Mark (Mitzee) Coggins, many nieces, nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepfather Jerome B. Coggins, her sisters Carol Storey, Cathy Hutchinson, brothers Vern Coggins, John Coggins, Jerome B. Coggins Jr., and Michael Coggins. The family would like to invite everyone to wear their favorite holiday sweaters to celebrate her love for the upcoming Christmas holiday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made the family of Maggie Edwards or to Saved by Zade, P.O. Box 27, Eaton Rapids, MI 48827. Rest in peace aunt Rosemary, you will be deeply missed. |
