Hamilton “Ham” Pierce Peltier Jr., of Grand Blanc, age 94, died Saturday, October 28, 2023, at Brookdale Memory Care surrounded by his family. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Thursday, November 2, 2023 at 11:00 am, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be directed to Holy Redeemer Church, Powers Catholic High School, or Heart to Heart Hospice. Ham was born in Flint, Michigan on October 4, 1929, the son of the late H. Pierce Peltier Sr. and Dorothy Aileen (McClean) Peltier. Ham was married to Sally Lou (Kracovic) for 61 years. Sally preceded him in death in 2013. Ham was a graduate of the General Motors Institute and worked for 38 years at AC Spark Plug, retiring in 1988. He was proud of his accomplishments which were many and varied. Ham was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, Indy Car Racing, NASCAR Racing, and all things related to shooting. He was a member of the Linden Sportsmen Club where he regularly would take his favorite rifles for target practice. He was an excellent marksman and was always willing to share his knowledge. Ham was a patient and excellent deer hunter and a forty-year member of Stevens Recreation Camp Inc. on Drummond Island, MI. All hunters, past and present can appreciate that Ham left us on the evening of the full Hunter’s Moon of 2023 with his trigger finger at the ready. Ham was an exemplary human being who helped Sally raise their family by quiet example unless something was done to make him bellow, “Quit your slommin around!!” or “If you had any more wit, you’d be a half-wit!!” Ham was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Surviving are Sisters Mary Kay Decker and Suzanne McLean Lewis, children, Stephen and wife Patricia, Michele and husband Frank DelGreco, Joseph and wife Joan; grandchildren, Amy and husband Matt Mikiciuk, Stephen and wife Amy Peltier, Elizabeth and husband Steve Starnes, Scott and wife Victoria, Erika and husband Drew Weiler, Jared Badour and Ann Peltier; great grandsons, Connor and Riley Mikiciuk and Ryder Peltier, great granddaughters, Mara Reese Peltier, Nora Blake and Aria Quinn Peltier, Ryleigh Pierce and Peyton June Weiler. The Peltier family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Braver, Carrianne and Shannon from Heart to Heart Hospice and especially to the entire staff of Brookdale Memory Care.
