Travis Brady Farris
Age 89 of Perry passed away Saturday, March 2, 2024 at Home.
A funeral service will be held 11am Monday, March 11, 2024, at Perry Nazarene Church with Military Honors to follow. Pastor Tim Harmon officiating. Travis last resting place will be at Great Lakes National Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church on Monday from 10am until the time of service.
Travis was born March 9, 1934, in Lynn, Alabama, the son of Garvey and Ada (Waldrop) Farris.
He proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He had many stories of driving the General around and general’s dog too. After the service Travis worked at GM for 33 years as a Millwrights.
He married Joyce Lawson in 1954 and had 4 children. He married his forever love Sandra C. Wahl in Perry, MI on December 31, 1987.
Travis was a true outdoorsman. He looked forward to camping, gardening, traveling through Michigan with his beloved sweetheart Sandra and spending time with his family. There was nothing more important to Travis than his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Travis was a kindhearted soul. To know him was to love him because you knew he loved you. He will be missed by so many.
Travis is survived by his Wife, Sandra Farris; Children, Linda (Mike) Armstrong, Ron (Yvette) Farris, Cindy (Tracy) Dietrich, Sharon (Shawn) Yeisley, Mark (Andrea) Cowles, Tim (Shannon) Cowles, and Tammy (Paul) Herba; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Brothers, Brad (Louise) Farris, Billy Farris, Ray (Carol) Farris, and Ralph (Janis) Farris; along with many nieces and nephews and other loving family and friends.
He was predeceased by his Grandson, "Little" Travis Farris, parents, Garvey and Ada Farris, brothers, Earl and Junior Farris, sister, Betty Manasco.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Perry AMVets, Shriners, and St. Jude Children Hospital.
