With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of a vibrant, unforgettable spirit—Carol A. White.
Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, Carol graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1965. Throughout her life, she embraced many roles and careers, from her early days as a Bell Telephone operator to her final job with the Grand Blanc School District, where her kindness and work ethic left a lasting impression.
She had a deep love for flowers and was happiest with her hands in the dirt, tending her many flower beds. Yellow, her favorite color, was a reflection of her sunny spirit and bright presence in the lives of those around her.
A lover of life’s joys both big and small, she crocheted, tackled crossword puzzles, played card games with friends and family, and proudly supported all of Detroit’s sports teams—especially her beloved Tigers. She was also a passionate baseball fan, having visited 20 Major League ballparks over the years, creating memories at each stop.
Her love of music ran deep, and she lived it fully as Nightcat #5 with the band Little Charlie & the Nightcats, forever a part of their rhythm and energy.
Carol leaves behind her husband Douglas of 57 years; daughter René (formerly White) (Gary) Maki; son Matthew (Kim) White; grandchildren Alex, Greg, Audrey, Emily, and Brennan; great-grandchildren Jonah and Arlo; Siblings Jean(Jim) Linkowski, Judy (Roy) Linkowski, Gary (Diane) Deitering, Michael (Nancy) Deitering, and Rick (Laura) Deitering; and many nieces and nephews.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and Ernest, and many loving family members.
An ancient Roman defined Perfect Beauty is the union of physical loveliness and spiritual excellence.
That defines Carol.
A funeral visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 from 3:00 PM- 8:00 PM at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 East Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19, 2025 at 10 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Carol. |
