FORTUNE, Wayne Louis – Of Burton, age 96, died Saturday, July 3, 2021 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12 Noon Thursday, July 8, 2021 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, Father Carl Simon officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Dominican Nuns.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. A Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 11am Thursday at church until the time of the Mass.
Wayne was born in Proctor, Vermont on December 30, 1924, the son of the late Lewis and Edith (Dayour) Fortune. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Burton and was a 3rd Degree with the Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed dancing, going to Sam’s Club and mowing his yard. He enjoyed spending time with his great-grandchildren, Clayton and Hadley. Mr. Fortune retired from GM.
He leaves behind his son, Robert (Joan) Fortune;
grandchildren, Jason (Christina) Fortune, Melisa (Robert) Rogers, Justin (Laura) Fortune and Corey (Rachel) Sorensen;
8 great-grandchildren;
4 great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Patricia and seven siblings.
