Donald A. Kuebler, Esq., of Saginaw, Michigan passed away in the morning hours of Friday, September 15, 2023 at Edgewood Assisted Living Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Age 85 Years. Don was born on April 26, 1938 in Bay City, Michigan to the late Arthur W. and Romayne L. (Ruffertshofer) Kuebler. He attended Saginaw High School, received his undergraduate degree from Northern Michigan University, and earned his law degree from Detroit College of Law. He served as a prosecuting attorney in Genesee County for more than 50 years and had hundreds of cases in the Michigan Court of Appeals and Michigan Supreme Court over the course of his career. The pinnacle of his professional achievements was traveling to Washington, D.C., where one of his cases was heard before the United States Supreme Court. Don enjoyed music and even played guitar in a band with other attorneys. Don traveled the world, both internationally and domestically, and spent time during the summer up north at the cottage. Don’s philanthropic priorities included education, community organizations, and aid for the less fortunate. Don will be missed dearly by all, and his memories cherished forever.
Don is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cheryl K. (Fischer) Kuebler; daughter, Lisa M. Schmitz, Esq., (Joel Schmitz), grandsons, Lincoln and Bennett; daughter, Katherine L. Koniuch, M.D. (Michael Koniuch, M.D.); grandchildren, West and Mila. Don is happily reunited with his parents; sister, Judith Savo; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Herbert and Helen Fischer; and sister-in-law, Joan Berry.
The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd. Saginaw, MI 48603. Officiating will be Pastor Timothy Bender. Visitation will take place at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., and also on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Private Family Entombment will take place in Oakwood Mausoleum in Saginaw, Michigan. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider a memorial to “Resurrection Lutheran Church”, “Saginaw Basin Land Conservatory, for the planting of trees”, or “Castle Museum of Saginaw County History”.
