POLZIN, Robert “Robin” – of Columbiaville, MI, age 80, passed away on May 7, 2021. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Party will take place at a later date for family and friends.
Robin was born in Flint, Michigan, on June 30, 1940, the son of Robert Francis Polzin and Anna Belle Dean. He was married and divorced from Nancy Ann (Hampton) (Jones) McClure of Missouri, and Cheryl (Sharon) Wilson of Michigan. Robin honorably served in the United States Army as a vehicle mechanic with Expert (Rifle and Carbine) and Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14) citations. He happily retired from Clawson Concrete in 2007, a proud member of the Teamsters Union. Robin was a master pig roaster and hosted some of the best “Just for the Hell of It” pig roast parties. He often reminisced about his friends from work and was quick to point out “we laid the concrete there” wherever we happened to be driving by at the time. Robin was an avid Harley Davidson rider. He would spend many summer hours on the open roads in Michigan. Robin collected Farmall tractors and enjoyed going to tractor shows with his beloved sister Sharon and brother-in-law Louie and Polzin cousins. He was a member of the NRA and collected firearms. Robin shared a love of music like his son, and he loved playing his guitars and steel guitar. He loved John Wayne movies (except Green Beret, lol). Robin spent many hours going to gun shows with his son-in-law Roger, and talking about “stuff.” He spent time with his daughters, sons-in-law, and grandkids reminiscing about his childhood, family, and friends, talking about recipes, cooking, dropping off Polzin corn, fresh eggs, bacon, or trinkets. But most of all, he loved his grandkids. They were the light of his life, and he was a devoted Papa. His memory will be cherished by all those whose lives he touched. His beautiful life will forever be treasured in the lives of his children and grandchildren.
Robin is survived by step-mother, Arlene (Robert) Polzin; sisters, Sharon (Louie) Zinn, Penny (Jerry) Quick; brother Jerry (Gwen) Polzin; children, Dale Polzin, Crystal (Roger) Chandler, Deanna Polzin (Rick Davis); grandchildren, Samantha (Russell) Culver, Devin Davis, Kiralyn (Larry) Bogus, Grace Chandler, Holden Davis, Ashlyn Davis; four great-grandchildren, and many other loving nieces, nephews, family and lots of friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert F. Polzin; mother Anna B. Dean; siblings, Joseph Ross, Jack Ross, Gayle Sudol, Gary Polzin; brothers-in-law, Louis Zinn and Jerry Quick.
