Beverly L. (Teichow) Ward, age 87, of Metamora, MI, passed away peacefully on October 19th, 2026 in her son’s loving arms, after a weekend at home surrounded by family and friends. Beverly was the sweetest little lady with a heart of gold who loved her family unconditionally and always had a smile on her face. She went home to be with the Lord and to reunite with her beloved husband of 64 years, Alvin, and her baby daughter, Kimberly.
Born in Mt. Clemens, Michigan, in 1939, Bev grew up in Yale and graduated from Yale High School. She married Alvin and spent her life lovingly by his side enjoying family gatherings, traveling, camping, gardening, going to the casino, and spending time at home on their beautiful, park-like property filled with towering pine trees and wildlife.
Beverly worked several years merchandising cards for American Greetings, and she had a wonderful talent and passion for baking and decorating gorgeous cakes for weddings and celebrations. Other joys in her life included laughing and spending time with family and friends, delighting in flowers of any kind, attending craft shows, hosting holiday dinners at home, bowling, birdwatching, and going to church. She adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to see them shine. One of her favorite traditions was taking drives each fall to admire the changing colors. Fittingly, Beverly passed away at the peak of the fall colors, leaving her family with a beautiful reminder of her each year as the leaves begin to change.
Beverly is survived by her children: LeRoy (Deborah) Ward of Swartz Creek and Tammy (Roger) Keller of Attica; grandchildren: Missy (Jason) Saas, Jason (Erica) Bellinger, Brandon Bellinger, Ashley (Nate) Upleger and Nick Keller; great-grandchildren: Jordan, Emma, Ben, Nori, Greyson, Leland and Macy; her brother Dan (Sharleen) Teichow of Lapeer. Beverly was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly Ward; her husband Alvin Ward; her brothers Vernie, Johnny and Delbert Teichow as well as her parents Lavern and Irene (Garchow) Teichow.
A memorial service for Bev will be held on Saturday October 24th at 11:00 A.M. at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 the morning of the service. They will also be hosting a memorial luncheon directly after the service at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to St. Paul Lutheran Church in Lapeer or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. |
