KIRKPATRICK, Noreda Mae (Williams) - age 90, of Flushing, passed away July 27, 2022. A memorial service will be held 11 AM Friday, August 5, 2022 at New Creation Church of God, 3472 Lennon Rd, Flint, MI 48507. The family will receive friends from 4-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek, MI 48473.
Noreda was born on September 16, 1931 in Marmaduke (Green County), Arkansas. She was the first-born of Carl and Ruby Williams. She has two brothers: Pete and Terry.
Noreda and her family moved to Flint, Michigan when she was twelve. She graduated from Northern High School and went directly into Hurley Nursing School at age 17. Noreda accepted Christ as her Savior when she was fourteen, and surrendered her life to Him at 16. West Court Street Church of God was her home church, and Herb and Lola Thompson were her pastors.
She decided to go to Anderson College in 1951. While there, she met Paul, and they were married June 13, 1953. They have served in pastoral ministry and the mission field. Her husband, Paul, has also been a Christian Counselor. Paul and Noreda enjoyed Holy Matrimony together for 69 years. They have two children: Ron (Kathy) and Paula. Two grandchildren: Lindsey (Tim) Belcher and Brady (Jennilee) Kirkpatrick; and six great-grandchildren: Garrett, Parker, Levi, Emma, Lydia, and Wesley.
They served as missionaries of the Church of God to South America (Guyana and Peru) 1970-1975; and Kenya 1999-2000.
While they pastored in Battle Creek, Noreda went back to college and got her Associates Degree and became an RN. She has been an excellent RN and has achieved her goal of spending 50 years in Nursing.
The Kirkpatrick family wishes to extend a special thank you to all the nurse, doctors, social workers and volunteers of Promedica Hospice.
