STACEY, RITA MARIE – Of Flint, age 86, died Thursday, March 21, 2024 at The Pines of Burton.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 3, 2024 at St. Michael the Archangel Byzantine Catholic Church, 2333 North Elms Road, Flushing, The Very Reverend James Batcha officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Visitation 2 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Rita was born in Flint, Michigan on October 15, 1937, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Levosky) Paul.
On December 29, 1956, she married Leon Stacey.
Rita retired from GM/EDS and was one of the first women in the computer department. Growing up Rita was an avid dancer, enjoying ballet, tap, jazz and was even a dance teacher at one point. She loved the holidays and spoiling her family.
Surviving are children, Teresa Stacey, Timothy, Rita and husband Larry VanFleet, Robert and wife, Catherine, Joseph and wife, Christine;
grandchildren, Christina and husband Justin Taylor, Stacey VanFleet, Caroline and husband Nate Silveus and Annemarie Stacey;
great-grandchildren, MaKayla and Connor Taylor;
brothers, Kendrick and wife Jacqueline Paul, Frederick and wife Nancy Paul, Bernard and wife Jane Paul;
sister, Mary and husband Charles Ward;
sisters-in-law, Linda Tomaszewski and Laura Klug;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon, on December 15, 2014.
