Sophie H. Lanczynski
Age 98 of Chesaning passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at MyMichigan Medical Center in Alma.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, May 26, 2022 at St. Peter Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McGeehan Funeral Homes Martin Chapel on Wednesday, May 25th from 2:00 to 7:00pm with a Rosary prayed at 6:00pm.
Sophie was born on February 13, 1924 to Simon and Helen Stec in Bad Axe, Michigan.
During her life, Sophie worked as a waitress at various restaurants. She Loved gardening, canning and listening and playing polka music on her accordion. Sophie was always willing to help others whenever she could. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy and made sure that no one went hungry when they came to visit.
Sophie is survived by her son Bill (Beverly) Mills; step- children, Alan (Rosetta) Lanczynski, Raymond (Ann) Lanczynski, Marcia (Paul) Groomes, Beverly (Randy) Auiler, Paul (Barb) Lanczynski, Joan Gross, and Irene (Tom) Foulds; 24 grandchildren, 60 great-grand-children, 8 great-great- grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is predeceased by her husband, Stanley Lanczynski. Her parents, grandson Eric Mills, and 9 brothers and sisters.
Memorial Contributions are suggested to St. Peter Parish for Mass. |
