Donald Bruce Firman, age 68, of West Branch, Michigan, formerly of Charlevoix and
Flushing, passed away peacefully at his home with his wife by his side on Tuesday,
August 10, 2021. Memorial Service will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 16, 2021 at
Rossell Funeral Home in Flushing. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday until the
time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the University
of Michigan Transplant Center.
Don was born in Flint, Michigan on December 5, 1952 to William and Gwendolyn
(Bigelow) Firman. He graduated from Flushing High School in 1971 and married his
high school sweetheart and the love of his life, Susan Morrow, on August 9, 1974.
Don was very handy and a talented woodworker. He was a great friend and the type
of man who would do anything to help those he cared about. He retired from Waste
Management in 2015 and in his free time enjoyed everything outdoors. He loved
snowmobiling, ORVing, camping, birdwatching, and fishing, but most of all he loved
spending time with his family. The love he had for his family and making memories
with them was most important to him. Don loved life and will always be remembered
for his jokes and sense of humor.
Don is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sue Firman; children, Jason (Lynnette)
Firman and Sara (Jason) Becker; five grandchildren, Olivia, Lauren, Cole, Emily,
and Evelyn; and three brothers, David (Gail) Firman, Dennis (Tammy) Firman, and
Douglas (Paula) Firman. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and
Gwendolyn Firman and nephew Daniel Firman. |
