Srda, John of Flushing, age 80, died Tuesday, June 22, 2021, at his home. Memorial service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 30, 2021, at Rossell Funeral Home. Fr. Jonathan Perrotta will officiate. The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or PAWS.
John was born in Flint, Michigan on April 17, 1941, the son of Richard and Myrna (Springer) Srda. He married Mary Routhier on April 28, 1962, at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Flint. He worked as a Pattern Maker at General Motors for 45 years. John was active in sons lives, from being a Scout Leader to coaching their baseball teams. He enjoyed woodworking. John loved tending his yard, feeding the birds, gardening, and taking care of animals. He was an avid U of M fan.
John is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary; sons, Matthew and wife Jennifer Srda, Richard Srda, Darrin Srda and Brett Graham; grandchildren, Michael Srda and Alicia Srda; great-granddaughter, Jasmine. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Srda; and sister, Dorothy Brandon. |
