Barbara J. Schlaud, age 89, passed away on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, in Grand Blanc, Michigan.
Barbara was born on June 27, 1936, in Lapeer, Michigan, to Leonard and Florence (Halpin) Schlaud. She graduated from Columbia University Teaching College in NY and The University of Toronto. Barbara spent 40 years as a member of the Sisters of St Joseph of Nazareth. She married Bob Brisky from Mattawan in April 1994.
Barbara had a wonderful comforting laugh. Her words and presence gave direction. She was able to share pain, soothe wounds and help people cope.
Barbara is survived by her sister Marilyn (Hamilton-Goyette) of Grand Blanc. Sister-in-law Maria, 14 Nieces and Nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by Husband Bob Brisky, Parents Leonard and Florence, brother John L and Sister-in Law Dorothy. Brother Larry, Nephew John M Schlaud.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the NRDC (Natural Resource Defense Council).
Visitation will be held Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 10:00am to 12:00pm at Hill Funeral Home - 11723 S. Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, MI. A Celebration of Barbara’s life will start at 12:00pm with a luncheon to follow. |
