WALKER, Sandra Jean - Of Burton, age 70, died Sunday, June 11, 2023 at Hurley Medical Center.
A memorial service will be held 1pm Friday, June 23, 2023 at Shiloh Baptist Church, 5225 Belsay Road, Flint, Pastor Jim Garfield officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Visitation 4-8pm Thursday, June 22, and 11am Friday, June 23, until the time of the service at the church.
Sandra was born in Flint, Michigan on May 1, 1953, the daughter of the late Oza and Juel (Brady) Carson. On December 4, 1971, she married Charles Walker at Hopewell General Baptist Church. Sandra was devoted to her children, accepting her children’s friends as family, her “bonus kids” to whom she was known as “Mama Sandy”. She opened her home and her heart to many. Sandra loved to decorate her home and was extremely particular about her house. She also loved to garden and the Detroit Tigers and Michigan Wolverines.
Surviving are husband, Chuck;
children, Chris (Nicole) Walker, Jamie (Adrienne Piazza) Walker, Tracy Walker and Sarah (Nate Knox) Walker;
grandchildren, Bobby, Jake, Tony, Matt, Brandon (Samantha), Brayden, Brody, Kennedy, Kaitlin and Kaden;
great-granddaughter, Onnaleigh;
siblings, Roger, Michael, Mark (Cindy);
best friends, Gloria and Bob Dobbs and Sherry Davis (Clark);
and many nieces and nephews.
