KIRBY, John David – Of Linden, age 78, died Sunday, June 19, 2022
at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 23, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jack Pichette officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Music Program for Faith Baptist Schools in Davison.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
John was born in Flint, Michigan on May 27, 1944, the son of the late Willis and Ruth (Butler) Kirby.
On May 1, 1970 he married Patricia VanLoon and she preceded him in death on November 24, 2019.
He was a member of New Community Baptist Church.
John was employed from 1969 until his retirement as a Chemistry Lab Technician at Kettering University.
He loved woodworking, guns and liked to collect things.
He was a member of the Linden Sportsmen Club. Most of all he loved spending time with family and friends.
Surviving are 3 children, Joyce (Patrick) Dillon,
Jan (Michael) Cox and
Michael (Martinique) Kirby;
5 grandchildren, Hailee, Kirby, Declan, Lochlan and Michelle;
siblings, James (Paulette), Jerry (Laurie), Robert (Debbie), Mary (Bud) Armstrong and Rick (Barb);
