PESHAWBESTOWN – Dale E. Miller, 56, of Peshawbestown, began his journey into the spirit world on Friday, Oct. 22, 2010 while at Munson Medical Center.
Wasse was born Dec. 7, 1953 in Traverse City, the son of Archie and Geraldine (Prickett) Miller.
On March 31, 1987 in Bartow, Florida, he married Myrt Shelafoe who survives.
Wasse was from the Odawa and Potawatomi tribes. He was an ironworker and carpenter by trade.
In addition to his wife of 23 years, Wasse is survived by his 6 daughters, Jennifer Miller-Greensky, Courtney Miller, Dana (Tahca) Milk, Shawnee Miller (fiancée Theodore “Bear” John) all of Peshawbestown, Natasha Olivares of Florida, and Nikki Taylor of Traverse City; 12 grandchildren, Samantha, Emilio, Cassandra, Elicio, Alejandra, Ezekiel, Shai, Stormy, Bella, Rosalie, Naasewyn, and Azhzhinekwe; siblings, Lenny and Tony Miller of Peshawbestown and Minnie Wabanimkee of Cedar; and several nieces and nephews.
Wasse was preceded in death by his parents.
Wasse’s family knows wherever he travelled on his journey he made people smile and laugh out loud with his beautiful native sense of humor.
Visitation will be Monday, Oct. 25 from 6 p.m. on at the Northport Indian Mission Church. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. also at the church. The Rev. Thomas John will officiate.
