BYE, Myrna Joy RN – of Grand Blanc, age 77, passed away March 5, 2015 at University of Michigan Hospital, Ann Arbor. A Memorial Service will be held 4 PM Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Pete Scribner officiating. Visitation will be 1-4 and 5:30-7 PM on Sunday. The family has requested no flowers. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Calvary Presbyterian Church, Kellogg Eye Center, or University of Michigan Cancer Center.
Myrna was born in Flint, MI on August 19, 1937, daughter of T. Clifford and Margaret (Carson) Waugh. She married Jerry Bye in 1957 and they had two children, Scott J. Bye and Shelley Bye Zurek. Myrna graduated from Kearsley High School in 1955 and then graduated from Hurley School of Nursing in 1958. She was a dedicated nurse at Hurley Hospital for 40 years in Obstetrics and Pediatrics, retiring in 1998. Myrna was a loving wife and mother, dedicated grandmother and great-grandmother, and caring nurse. She was a member of Calvary Presbyterian Church serving as deacon, elder and treasurer. She spent her retirement years with her beloved husband, traveling the US, treasure hunting and participating in flea market sales.
Myrna was survived by her husband, Jerry Bye; son, Scott (Brenda) Bye; daughter, Shelley (Walter) Zurek; brothers, Gernard (Judith) Waugh, Thomas (Diane) Waugh; grandchildren, Travis (Sonja) Bye, Lauren (Blake) Valot, Zachary Zurek, Jordan (Rachel) Zurek, Benjamin Mackie, Kelly Mackie; great-grandchildren, Lillian Valot, Amelia Bye.
