KING, Dean K. -- Age 68, of Irons MI. formerly of Flushing, died April 21, 2021. Visitation will be 4 - 7 PM Wednesday, and 12 - 2 PM and 4 - 7 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Homes Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd., Swartz Creek. Due to Covid restrictions a private service will be held, and a live stream of the funeral service can be viewed at 11 AM Friday April 30 on Deans obituary page at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. Interment at Flint Memorial Park, Mt. Morris, Michigan.
Dean was born May 8, 1952 in Saginaw MI. the son of Calvin and Mary Katharine (Craun) King. He was a graduate of Flint Central High School. He married Karen Scott at Asbury United Methodist Church in Flint on June 2, 1973. He worked on the family farm in Prescott, Michigan from the age of 12. He was employed GM Truck and Bus with 34 Years of service, retiring in 2006. Dean was a UAW 598 Member and Representative. He was a avid reader, hunter, and a history buff. He was a Golden Eagle NRA Life Member. He was a past Mason. Dean was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; son, Charles Scott King (Cristen) of Otter Lake; daughter, Laura Marie King of Flint; grandson, Jackson Noah Layman; best friends, Henry "Hank"(Ellen) Schlegel, John (Janis) Akers.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and maternal grandfather, Vernon Craun; maternal grandmother, Cora (Streeter) Brenden Craun. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
