PRINCE, Edythe A. “Edie” - Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 12Noon Friday, January 16, 2026 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, Pastor Tony Chick officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Absolute Hospice.
Visitation 2-7pm Thursday and 10am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Edythe was born in Flint, Michigan on January 18, 1935, the daughter of the late Gilbert and Georgia Lesperance and was a lifelong resident of the Flint area. She attended Living Promise Free Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Mrs. Prince was employed by Flint Osteopathic Hospital for 32 1/2 years, retiring in 1997.
Surviving are children, Kristy Alexander, Robert Prince and Marcia Backus;
11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren;
special friend and sister, Patricia Raffaele;
brother, Gilbert “Buck” Lesperance;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Deward "Linke", in 2010 and son, Deward "Rick" Prince, in 1987, son, Martin in 2012, daughter, Karla Harris in 2021 and son-in-law, Richard Alexander in 2020.
