DAVIS, Ethel Marie (Colvin) – of Otisville, MI, age 91, passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Monday, March 11, 2024, with a viewing one hour prior to the service at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Robert D. Taylor officiating. Interment in West Haven Cemetery, Owosso, MI. The family will receive visitors 4-8 PM Friday, March 8, 2024. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Paradise Animal Rescue, in Ethel’s memory.
Ethel was born in Owosso, MI, on April 28, 1932, daughter of the late Willard and Thelma (Sprinkles) Colvin. She married George Ernest Davis on June 2, 1951, he preceded her in death on November 29, 2009, after 58 years of marriage. Ethel retired from Beecher Community schools in June of 1997 following many years of service as a librarian. Ethel was a Den Mother, Girl Scout Brownie Leader and she won the highest award in the district known as the Silver Tomahawk Award in scouting. She enjoyed gathering with friends in the Barbie Club, Crossroads Village, Red Hat Society and the Genesee Valley Tractor Collectors Club, where she is a lifetime member.
Ethel is survived by 3 children, Terry (Lisa) Davis, Darcy (Rett) Johnson and Gary (Barbara) Davis; 3 grandsons, Alan (Megan), Taylor (Samantha) and Spencer; great grandson, Ryder; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Thelma Colvin; husband, George Davis and daughter, Rae Ann Davis.
