BRIGGS, Mark Donald – of Montrose, age 58, died Saturday, January 7, 2023 at his residence. Mass of Resurrection will be held on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose, Michigan. Rev. Fr. Prabhu Lakra officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan and at the church on Friday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass. A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening with a Knight of Columbus service following the Rosary. Memorial contributions can be made to the Knight of Columbus Council # 8669
Mark was born March 29, 1964 in Flint, Michigan to the late Phillip and Linda (Brotherton) Briggs. He grew up in Flint, Michigan and Graduated from Flint Powers Catholic High School with the class of 1983. Mark went onto Mott Community College where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. On June 29, 1984 he married Lisa Guertin in Flushing, Michigan. Mark was a Journeyman Machinist and worked for Atlas for 25 years, before working for Kuka for the last 4 years. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Knight of Columbus Council # 8669. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and firearms. Mark liked playing softball, cornhole, horseshoes and bowling on a league. He was an avid MSU Spartans fan. However, his family was his greatest joy in his life, especially his grandsons.
Surviving are: Wife of 38 years, Lisa Briggs; Children, Jennifer Huber, Steven (Racheal) Briggs; Grandsons, Landin Briggs, Brysen Briggs, Kaison Briggs, Jace Huber, Blake Huber; Step Father, Fred Zilliox; Siblings, Michele Paschket, Mary Dorff, Michael (Barbara) Briggs, Mike (Paula) Zilliox, Matt Zilliox, Mark Zilliox, Gina Mahon; Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and his Dog, Pepper. He was preceded in death by his Parents; Brother in laws, Rod Dorff, Ronald Paschket; Niece and Goddaughter, Shelby Paschket.
