GIEM, Nicholas E. - of Clio, age 35, died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 13, 2023, from injuries sustained after tragically being struck by a vehicle. In the light of such tragedy, Nick's family gave the greatest gift of organ donation with Gift of Life – Michigan that has so far saved three other people. Funeral services will be held at 1PM Friday, April 21, 2023, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Andrew Barancik officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 1PM. Burial to follow in Crestwood Cemetery. Nicholas was born October 29, 1987, in Flint, Michigan, to Daniel and JoAnn (Drinkwine) Giem. He graduated from Clio High School in 2005, and later earned his Associate Degree in Computer Programming from Mott Community College. Though Nick’s Life was cut short, he managed to accomplish many things. He was a manager with Puma for over 10 years, and a talented software developer who created two game apps on Google Play – Fortune Cookie and Tap. Nick also created a beautiful coloring book that is available on Amazon - Paws and Relax Puppy Pals: A Canine-Inspired Adult Coloring Book. He enjoyed playing video games – especially old-school Nintendo, and loved all animals. With hard work and discipline, Nick earned his black belt in martial arts, and loved studying foreign languages; specifically, Japanese and Spanish. He was quite a foodie and adventurous when it came to trying different foreign foods. Above all, Nick loved his family. He was kind, loving and had a heart of gold. Nick was always there to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Surviving are: Parents, Dan and JoAnn Giem; Sister, Christina (Michael) Lusk; Niece and nephew: Lucy and Noah Lusk; Grandparents: Carolyn Giem, and Cheryl (Don) Chandler; Aunts and uncles: Janet Giem, Doug (Julie) Giem, Joseph Drinkwine Jr., Michele (John) Jordan, and Linda Spann; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Nick was preceded in death by: Nephew, Isaac Lusk; Uncle, David Giem; Grandparents: Joseph Drinkwine Sr., Gloria Hargarther, and Edwin Giem.
