YOCOM, David Winfred – of Clio, age 73, died Friday, January 17, 2025 at McLaren Flint. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 1:00 PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Doug Tipton officiating. The family will receive visitors on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 11:00 AM until the time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the John Paul Jones Association C/O Doug Dirks at 10600 NE 85th Street Kansas City, Missouri 64153.
David was born September 5, 1951 in Flint, Michigan to the late Winfred and Haroldene (Seneker) Yocom. He grew up in Flint and graduated from Clio High School with the class of 1969. David proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1971 to 1976. On April 22, 1978 he married Pamela Oliver in Flushing, Michigan. Prior to his retirement in 2020, David worked in skilled trades for Chrysler with 20 years of service. He was a member of the John Paul Jones Association and the Clio VFW Post #1452. David enjoyed fishing, cooking, collecting and working on MG cars. He also liked going up north to Fletcher’s Pond. However, his greatest joy in life was his family, especially going to lunch with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife of 46 years, Pamela Yocom; Son, Benjamin (Leslie) Yocom; Grandchildren, Alexzander Yocom, Zoey Yocom, Tucker Yocom, Gatlin Yocom; Sister in law, Angela (Ronald) McCormick; several nieces and nephews.
