ARROWOOD, Joann “Granny” – Of Grand Blanc, age 89, died Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Ascension Genesys Hospital, surrounded by family.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle, 1013 Hughes Avenue, Flint, Pastor Keith McKinnies officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle.
Visitation 4 p.m. – 8 p.m. Tuesday, 1 p.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday and 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the service at the church.
Joann was born in Hazard, Kentucky on April 6, 1932, the daughter of the late Bub and Sylvania (New) Combs.
On December 15, 1951 she married Charles Arrowood.
She was a member of Calvary Apostolic Tabernacle. She loved quilting.
Most of all she loved to have all of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren around.
Surviving are husband, Charles;
children, Sharion (George) McGinnis and Garry Arrowood;
6 grandchildren, Kim (Ben) Handa,
Brian Arrowood,
Jill (Mark) Sanburn,
Jason Hazel, Christopher (Tina) Arrowood and
Sha’Lorena Manoharan;
10 great-grandchildren, Josh, Jeremy, Charlie, Athena, Hutton, Kendyl, Tina, Scott, Kriston and Jordan;
several great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, James Arrowood and 6 brothers.
