BROWN, Grace Marie – of Clio, age 82, passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at Serenity Assisted Living. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Mt. Morris Community Church, 7245 N. Center Rd., Mt. Morris, MI 48458; Pastor Aaron Burton officiating. Interment will take place following the service at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the church from 11 AM until the time of service.
Grace was born in Flint, Michigan, on January 22, 1944, the cherished daughter of the late Arleigh and Velma (Brant) Jupe. On January 21, 1967, she married the love of her life, Aurick “Ike” Brown, in Flint. Together they shared more than 58 years of marriage until Ike's passing on March 26, 2025.
A member of one of the first graduating classes of the Licensed Practical Nurse Program at Mott Community College, Grace dedicated herself to caring for others with compassion and kindness. She found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially camping, playing cards, tending to her beautiful gardens, and nurturing her beloved ferns and vibrant poppies. Although Grace was an only child, she was warmly welcomed into Ike's large family of eleven siblings, where she was embraced as one of their own. Family was the center of her world, and she treasured every opportunity to bring loved ones together. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and love, where Sunday dinners, Christmas Eve celebrations, and countless gatherings created cherished memories for generations. Nothing brought Grace greater happiness than spending time with her grandchildren, whose lives were forever enriched by her unwavering love, gentle spirit, and generous heart.
Grace is survived by children: Steven Aurick (Kristi) Brown and Kelly (Terry) Traver; grandchildren: Jesse (Breanna) Traver, Bryce Sullivan, Kasey Brown, Grace (Tyler Morrish) Brown, and Zoe Traver; great grandchildren: Brayden Morley, McKenna Morrish, Tyler Morrish Jr., Haven Traver, Hadley Traver, Sophia Sullivan, and Jordan Sullivan; many special nieces and nephews and several other loving family members and friends. Grace was preceded in death by both parents and her husband.
