TOTH, James W., age 102 of Jonesboro Georgia, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 12, 2022.
James was born October 28, 1919 in West Virginia, the son of James Toth and Mary Vlaz. He was raised on a small farm in Minnesota.
James served in WW-II as a waste gunner and radio operator on B26 aircraft. He flew 66 missions and was honorably discharged from the Army Air Force in 1945.
James was united in marriage to Mary Muich on January 20, 1945, in St Louis Missouri. They moved to Flint Michigan where James worked as an electrician at the Buick engine plant for 28 years. He enjoyed hunting and other outdoor activities throughout his life.
He is survived by his daughter MaryEllen McCrea of Jonesboro Georgia; son James F. Toth of Rio Wisconsin; grandchildren: Kirsten Jackson of Newnan Georgia; Daniel Toth of Waunakee Wisconsin; great grandchildren: Natalie Jackson, David Jackson, Carter Toth, Glen Toth; sisters: Percy Antol, Liz Kuklis, Isabel Grant as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
Visitation will be held 11am Friday, October 21, 2022 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Graveside services will be held 1pm Friday, October 21, 2022 at Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly. Father Roy Horning officiating.
