Judith Ann Ugartechea
Age 80 of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Chesaning, died peacefully on November 22, 2022 in the care of her family.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, November 28, 2022 at McGeehan Funeral Homes - Martin Chapel. The family will receive friends from 9:00 am until the time of service.
Judy was born on November 18, 1942 to Herbert and Pauline (Winters) VanWormer in Detroit, Michigan. She married Ernest Ugartechea on February 2, 1996. He preceded her in death in March of 1999.
During her life, Judy was an expert at crocheting, knitting, quilting and sewing. She also enjoyed a weekly steak, canning, watching adventure and thriller movies, listening to John Denver, Patsy Cline and George Jones as well as taking trips to Florida, Las Vegas, Tennessee and Mexico. Judy was raised catholic and read the bible 27 times all the way through. She also loved reading and discussing the things she read about.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wendy (Chris Ladner) Whisman, Kimberly (Brian Crawfis) Bigelow; grandchildren, Aaron Whisman, Mark Sutter, David Bigelow; great grandchildren, Willow Whisman, Annaliisa Dale Newman, Isabella Sutter, Joey Strombeck; sister, Connie Maturen; as well as many nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends and her beloved dogs.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Richard VanWormer, and sisters, Karen Harris and Beverly Kassin.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Shiawassee County Animal Shelter. |
