Daniel C. VerBurg, originally from Fenton Michigan went to be with his Lord and savior on August 12, 2024, in Marlette, Michigan, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on April 6, 1951, in Jackson, Michigan, the son of Carl and Molly (Hancock) VerBurg. Daniel's life was a testament to his big hearted, friendly and faith-filled nature.

He was a 1969 graduate of Detroit Cody High School, where he excelled in Football and Baseball. Dan went on to play semi-professional football after high school.

Daniel dedicated many years to Kid Currier Services, where he drove special needs children, touching many lives with his kindness. His passion for life was evident in his love for hunting, fishing, and most of all coaching football. The impact he had on the lives of so many former player’s was a testament to his desire to help young people. Daniel's commitment to his faith was clear to all who knew him, as he was a devoted attendee of the Fenton Freedom Center.

A cherished father, Daniel is survived by his children, Stephen (Jill) VerBurg and April (Jim) Lane; his sister, Penny VerBurg; seven grandchildren: Dakota Stack, Connor, Scarlett, Lincoln, Cash VerBurg, James and Lucas Lane; and two great-grandchildren Paisley and Ryleigh. His unwavering devotion to his family was the cornerstone of his life.

Daniel's legacy of love and service will forever be cherished by those who were fortunate enough to know him.

Cremation has taken place, and no services are planned per his wishes. Arrangements entrusted to Jansen Family Funeral Home – Columbiaville.
