Wayne was born on July 3, 1979 in Saginaw, Michigan the son of Gordon and Kathy (DuRussell) Teddy. Wayne lived in many places growing up, from Deford, MI to Cincinnati, OH, but spent most of his childhood & adult life in Davison, Michigan. He graduated from Davison High School with the class of 1997. By then, Wayne practically achieved local celebrity status as one of the most fun, interesting, and friendly people you were likely to meet. It’s no surprise as he could fit into any crowd: he attended more concerts across more musical genres than one can count, and he was on the wrestling team, the track team, and even in multiple heavy metal bands! Wayne was well known for the unique perspective he could bring to almost any conversation or subject, borne out of his genuine interest in the unknown. He enjoyed traveling with his family and never shied away from adventure, traveling as far as New Zealand and even pulling wild stunts like canyoneering down flooded slot canyons in Utah.
On March 18, 2016 he married the bride that he adores, Larissa Johnsen. One of the highlights of Wayne’s life was catching his daughter, Delilah, during her birth. His main goal was to love on the 4 ladies in his life, which gave him great joy. Wayne would always say to Larissa, “My biggest accomplishment in life was marrying you and having my girls”.
Surviving are wife, Larissa Teddy;
daughters, Eva, Delilah and Marielle Teddy;
father, Gordon (Nancy) Teddy;
brother, Paul (Cassandra) Teddy;
and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Wayne was preceded in death by his beloved mother and confidant, Kathy (DuRussell) Teddy, Grandparents, Gertrude Faye and Edward DuRussell and Geraldine (Milligan) and Gordon Teddy Sr., aunts Kaye and Judy, and uncles Kim, Gerry, and Gary.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a fund for the girls, payable to Larissa Teddy or a mental health organization of one’s choice.
