STANFILL, Walter Ray - Of Grand Blanc, age 74, died Friday, September 7, 2012 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11 am Monday, September 10, 2012 at Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, 8070 South Saginaw Road, Grand Blanc,
Reverend Glenn Grant officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Kirkridge Presbyterian Church, Avalon Hospice or Special Olympics.
Visitation 12-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Mr. Stanfill will be at the church 10am Monday until the time of the service.
Walter was born in Flint on August 6, 1938. He married Sandra Holt on October 26, 1979. He was employed with GTE for 34 years retiring in 1991. Walter enjoyed his card club and was an avid golfer and enjoyed Wednesday and Friday tee times with Marv. Walter was a member of Kirkridge Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder.
Surviving are wife, Sandy;
children, Rick, Karyn (Don) Kutchey and Lynda (Mel) Dodson;
granddaughters, Jessica (Chris) Smith, Chelsea Cox (boyfriend, Craig Guck) and Mallory Cox;
sister, Shirley Peppler;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Ida brothers and sister, Marion, James, Lawrence, Junior, Eunice Pappas and Bob.
