Laura Lynn Nichols, 69, of Burton, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at Ascension Genesys Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born to Warren and Patricia Ledsworth on December 21, 1953 in Port Huron, MI and graduated from Port Huron Northern High School in 1972. On February 16, 1974, she married Robert (Bob) Nichols. Laura was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Flint for over 40 years, including teaching Sunday School when her children were young.
Laura worked as a secretary and office manager for insurance and construction companies, and a church for many years. Laura was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, cousin and friend. She was dubbed, “The Hostess with the Mostest” and loved to plan parties and events. She enjoyed her summers camping in their fifth wheel and loved to swim.
Laura is survived by her husband, Bob; son, Joshua (Tabitha) Nichols; daughter, Maria Konieczka; grandsons, Jack Nichols, Jacob Konieczka and Cole Konieczka; father, Warren Ledsworth; brother, Paul Ledsworth; four sisters, Julie (Bill) Qualls, Paula Berger, Sylvia (Dan) Maxfield, and Amy (Jeremy) Kondrath; Brothers-in-law, Ron Nichols and Jim (Jamie) Nichols; several aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Ledsworth; brother, Clyde Ledsworth; sister, Janet Osborn; and Sister-in-law, Pam Thieke.
There will be a Celebration of Life Service in Laura’s memory on Wednesday, April 19, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at the Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI. Visitations will be on Tuesday, April 18, 2023 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m., 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. and 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2023 prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the “Gerholz Christian Counseling Center” at First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Port Huron, MI.
