Cortner, Maxine Imogene of Flushing, age 96, died Friday, May 19, 2023, at Living Joy Memory Care. A memorial service will be 12 Noon Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at Rossell Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Wednesday until the start of the service at Noon. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Heart-to-Heart Hospice or Living Joy Memory Care.
Maxine was born in Flint, Michigan on October 31, 1926, the daughter of William and Edrie (Law) Matheson. She married Wayne Cortner on December 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on September 15, 2014. Maxine was devoted to God and her family and loved being able to stay home to raise her family. Together with her husband, they enjoyed 25 years in Bradenton, Florida. Maxine enjoyed golfing and bowling. She loved cooking and helping out at the churches she belonged to over the years. She was very generous at heart.
Maxine is survived by her children, Carole and husband Dale Leach, Wayne W. Cortner; grandchildren, Samuel and wife Christy Leach, Rachel and husband Samuel Conant, Mattie and husband Nate Marcy, Jeffrey and wife Ashley Cortner; and nine great-grandchildren. |
