Carolyn Louise Jones joined her husband, Raymond Allen Jones, Jr. in heaven on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. Raymond preceded Carolyn in death on February 15, 2022. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held for both of them at 11 a.m. Monday, May 16, 2022 at Flushing United Methodist Church. Pastor JJ Mannschreck will officiate. A private burial will be held at Bendle Cemetery. Memorial gathering will be Monday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Flushing United Methodist Church.
Carolyn and Raymond were married on August 15, 1959.
Carolyn was born in St. Ignace, Michigan on July 26, 1938 to Rev. William and Andrea (Hansen) Williams. She retired after a 30 year career with Flushing Schools. In her free time she enjoyed sewing, cooking, and knitting but more than anything she loved spending time with her family.
Raymond was born in Warren, Michigan on March 16, 1937 to Raymond, Sr. and Marion (Schmidt) Jones. He graduated from GMI and spent 31 years with General Motors before retiring. After that retirement he started his own tax and investment business. His hobbies included golfing, boating, and playing cards.
Together they enjoyed camping with family and in later years, spending winters in Florida.
They are survived by their children, Sherri (William) Jones-Teachout, Sue (Mark) Johnson, and David (Michele) Jones; grandchildren, Megan (James) Nokielski, Brian Johnson, Jeremy Jones, Sydney Jones, and Taylor Jones; and great-grandchildren, Harrison and Norah; and Raymond's brother, Gerald Jones. Carolyn was preceded in death by her brother, Sheldon Williams, and her parents. Raymond was preceded in death by his parents. |
